Ezri took a lady dummy or mannequin, filled it with concrete and let it plunge into a trapezoidal box made from a perforated metal sheets.
The chair is formed.

This work was published on October 18, 2011 as a memento for Israeli Soldier, Gilad Shalit, who came back from isolated captivity after more than 5 years, and as a salute to his firmness.

Two of these chairs were sold for $56,250 each at a NYC auction of Phillips in December 2012.

Another one of 1948 is for sale in London next week.

Sold at Phillips for a whopping $206,500 in a December 2012 sale in NYC.

The chair was designed for the drawing room of Hous’Hill, Catherine Cranston’s residence at Nitshill, Glasgow, in 1904.

Dutch designers Jonathan Hofmeijer and Babke Dekker have their studio in Eindhoven where they attended the Design Accademy. I saw their work in Het Kunstgemaal (the Art Waterpumpstation) near the place of birth of one or both of them.
